Chafing dishes are full -sized
serving dishes with a cover. Previously known as charcoal burning braziers or
dishes of coals they are normally used in social events, buffets and
parties in order to keep the food fresh
and warm. Earlier, chafing dishes were simple portable grate heated equipment
which were kept warm by burning charcoal underneath. Chafing Dishes are used
for gentle heating and are kept away from the direct flames. Chafing dishes are
made from a variety of materials such as brass; stainless steel etc. but now
generally copper is preferred because of its inherent properties. This type of
copper cookware makes the servicing of food very easy and convenient.
